La mort aux mille et un visages

Philippe Roger Andres, a Knight of the Legion of Honour, has just signed his second book, following his first, published in 2024, entitled *“30 Ways to Become Famous After Retirement.”*

His new book, titled *“The Thousand and One Faces of Death,”* is published, like his first, by BoD. It is also available in paperback or e-book format from most online bookstores (Fnac, etc.).

This book aims to show how it is possible to prepare for the encounter with death that we will all face one day. It is the most important appointment of your life, since it is precisely the one that will take it away from you. There are several ways to approach death, depending on one’s beliefs, lifestyle, profession, culture, and philosophical conception of life. The way death will smile at you has a thousand and one faces. For Philippe Roger Andres, the way in which you will smile back at it has only thirteen.

Having been the victim of a serious road accident several years ago that nearly cost him his life; the father of a little girl who died at the age of five months from sudden infant death syndrome; and of a teenage son who challenged death by climbing skyscrapers, Philippe Roger Andres has developed his own perception of death through these painful experiences.

An English version of this book will soon be available under the title *“Thousand and One Faces of Death.”*

30 Ways to Become Famous After Retirement

Through the exploration of a hundred biographies of notable figures from around the world, this book dismantles the myths of youth-centric and ageist ideologies that permeate modern society.

Age, which is merely a number, neither prevents missteps nor hinders accomplishments. It reflects the timeless nature of the human spirit.

30 Ways to Become Famous After Retirement is a powerful testament to human resilience and the will to live—a compelling reminder that it’s never too late to achieve greatness.

As Spinoza wrote in Ethics: “Desire is the essence of man.” This book illustrates that this desire endures until the very end, emphasizing that the sole purpose of life is to never stop yearning to live.
